Why is the "regret line" the soul of this prompt? Because when you ask a model to weigh a decision, it hedges — pros, cons, it depends. Regret framing forces it to commit and name the one thing you need to hear. If the model can't surface a real regret, the decision isn't as big as you think and you can move on. Works for: pay off the car or invest / take the new job or stay / should I leave this person or try harder / go solo or take VC money / ship MVP now or polish another month. The role changes. The prompt doesn't.
