Magazine Cover with Text and a Subject.

Three workflows for the same original magazine cover

Keep the fictional title and layout brief constant while comparing generated lettering, later typesetting and vector illustration. These workflows produce different kinds of deliverables and do not establish a model-quality ranking.

Content reviewed

Shared brief

An original magazine called AVANT; an adult subject in a red dress on an ivory background; title AVANT, issue OCTOBER 2026 and short headline NEW FORMS, with clear typographic hierarchy.

Ideogram

Official version reference checked · 4.5 / 4.0 · Source checked

Writing approach

Quote short text exactly and describe its placement and letter shapes.

English prompt example

Magazine cover with the exact title "AVANT" across the top, issue text "OCTOBER 2026" near the upper right, and headline "NEW FORMS" at the lower left. An adult subject in a red dress stands against an ivory background. Clear bold letter shapes, restrained editorial layout, readable spacing, no other lettering.

Setup and use

Check the selected model, then describe text position, weight and shape. A prompt does not load an actual font file.

Watch for

  • Proofread every word in any language; the model name cannot guarantee accuracy.
  • Check layout and font requirements before publication.

FLUX 3

Official version reference checked · FLUX 3 · Source checked

Writing approach

Use full sentences to describe objects, materials, positions and lighting.

English prompt example

Editorial cover photograph of an adult subject in a red dress against an ivory studio background. Leave generous empty space across the top for the magazine title AVANT and at the lower left for the headline NEW FORMS. Soft directional light, clear silhouette. Generate the photograph without lettering; title and issue text will be added in a layout editor.

Setup and use

Check the FLUX model and dimensions on your chosen platform. The example does not select a provider, API or model route.

Watch for

  • Models and editing modes within a family are not interchangeable.
  • Keep the input reference and inspect the result against the brief.

Recraft

Official version reference checked · V4.1 / V4 · Source checked

Writing approach

Choose raster artwork or vector illustration before describing the layout.

English prompt example

Vector illustration for an original magazine cover called AVANT. An adult subject in a geometric red dress on an ivory background, simple flat color shapes, clear silhouette. Reserve a broad title area at the top, an issue line at the upper right and a headline area at the lower left. Typeset AVANT, OCTOBER 2026 and NEW FORMS separately after export.

Setup and use

For SVG, select a model and export mode that support vectors. This example uses illustration, so assess its style separately from photographic alternatives.

Watch for

  • Not every Recraft model produces vector output.
  • An SVG does not guarantee editable text objects; inspect the exported file.

Copying does not submit a generation. Check the model, mode and available features on your target platform first.

Check the actual result

  • AVANT, OCTOBER 2026 and NEW FORMS are correct and in the intended order.
  • Headlines preserve the subject and establish a clear hierarchy.
  • The raster or vector file fits the use case; editability has been checked in an editor.

Choosing and checking

Proofread generated lettering word by word. For precise text, reserve layout space and typeset it separately. If vectors are required, check the export mode and actual file structure.
