Skincare Product Shots: 3 Tricks to Shake That "$2 AliExpress Listing" Look
Does AI always make your skincare look cheap? The problem isn't the bottle, it's everything around it. Wet surface reflection + rim lighting + droplet placement push the clinical-luxury feel to the max.

Why AI skincare always ends up looking floating-on-white: you described the bottle but not what's around it. A real photographer spends half the shoot setting up the surface and lighting, then just places the bottle and shoots. Three key differences: 1. Surface behavior. A wet slate reflection looks very different from a dry marble one. Specifying wet + slightly distorted reflection gives you depth instead of a floating composite. 2. Rim lighting. A backlight from the upper right brushes a bright edge down the right side of the bottle. That single line of light is the dividing line between clinical luxury and a generic product shot. 3. Droplet placement. Scattered around the base, foreground slightly out of focus, adds context without looking staged. AI tends to go to extremes with water droplets, either none at all or everywhere, so give it placement logic to fix that.
